Terms of Service
These are the rules for using Meet Pup. By using the app, you agree to them.
1. Acceptance of these terms
By creating an account or otherwise using Meet Pup ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you don't agree, you may not use the Service.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Meet Pup. If you're under 18, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has read and accepted these Terms on your behalf.
2. What the Service is
Meet Pup is a social platform for dog families. It lets you: create a family hub with multiple humans and dogs, share your location with friends when you're at a dog park, chat one-on-one or in groups, and coordinate playdates.
We reserve the right to add, remove, or change features at any time, though we'll do our best to give you notice when it materially affects the way you use the Service.
3. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that occurs on your account. Notify us immediately at support@meetpup.space if you suspect unauthorized access.
You must provide accurate account information. Impersonation, fake profiles, and multiple free accounts to circumvent limits are prohibited.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of everything you post — messages, photos, dog bios, family info. By posting, you grant Meet Pup a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to host, display, transmit, and back up that content solely for the purpose of operating the Service.
You are solely responsible for the content you post. Please don't upload anything that infringes someone else's rights or violates the community rules below.
5. Community rules
Be kind. No harassment, bullying, or hate speech.
No spam, scams, or unauthorized commercial activity.
No sexually explicit content, gore, or content involving minors.
No content that facilitates real-world harm to people or animals.
No impersonating other users, celebrities, or organizations.
Violations may result in warnings, content removal, or account suspension without refund. Egregious violations (e.g. animal abuse content, threats) will be reported to the appropriate authorities.
6. Family Plans and subscriptions
Some features (multiple family members, private check-ins) require a Family Plan subscription. Fees, billing frequency, and the current active features are shown in-app at purchase time.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime from your device's app store account settings.
Refunds are handled per Apple App Store or Google Play policies — please contact those stores directly for billing disputes.
7. Location and safety
Meet Pup shares your general check-in location with friends you've chosen. You should never share more detail than you're comfortable with, and you should be aware of your surroundings when meeting anyone you've only interacted with through the app.
We do not verify user identities. You are responsible for evaluating other users before meeting them in person. Meet Pup is not liable for any interaction between users offline.
8. Third-party services
The Service uses Google Maps to display parks and directions. Your use of Google Maps is governed by Google's Terms and Privacy Policy.
Password reset emails are sent via Resend. Push notifications are delivered via Emergent's push service and (for Android) Firebase Cloud Messaging. Subscriptions are processed by Apple's App Store and managed via RevenueCat.
9. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account inside the app.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms, if we are legally required to, or if the Service is discontinued. When possible we'll give notice; where not (e.g. clear abuse), we may act immediately.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including without limitation warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. Your use is at your own risk.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Meet Pup and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service.
Our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or the Service is limited to the amount you have paid us (if anything) in the 12 months preceding the claim.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
